Wedding Bookings for 2017 & 2018

Frequently Asked Questions

What is the best time to take photos?

The best time of day to take photos is one hour before sunset. This is what is referred to in the photography world as “the golden hour”. When the sun is lower in the sky, the light is less intense and has a lower colour temperature, resulting in images that have a warmer tone.

Does having a tan make for better photos?

If you are going to get married in a sunny location then a light tan is helpful as you will generally look more radiant and healthy. Also, if your skin is a bit darker it is less reflective which will help in the sunlight. If you are going to spend a few days in the sun before the wedding please just be aware of tan lines that may be visible if you are wearing a strapless dress. If you are going to get a fake tan, it is essential to get it done by a professional! Many of the cheaper products have colours that are not natural – they leave you looking rather yellow or too orange and if self-applied it’s easy to miss a spot and achieve an unflattering, streaky look.

Will you be my photographer on the day?

If you book with me you will be guaranteed that I will photograph your wedding. If I am already booked out on your date but you would still like to have the Naomi V Photography experience, we can provide another photographer who shoots in a similar style.

Will we get the digital files?

Yes, all my packages come with your digital files. These are un-watermarked and can be reprinted.

How many images do we get?

For weddings, you will receive around 600-800 digital images. For portraits, you will receive around 30 digital images. This may vary and will also depend on the conditions on the day (weather, time, etc).

Why is an album so important?

An album is a beautiful record of your special day that can be handed down to your children and really become a family heirloom. Remember how you loved looking at your parents’ photos when you were younger?

What can we do to get beautiful preparation photos?

Choose a room that is spacious, bright and airy. Chances are there will be quite a few people in the room so it helps if I am able to move around easily and work.

What happens if it rains?

Some of my favourite images have been taken on days that have had extreme weather conditions. If, for some reason, we are left with no alternative other than to shoot indoors for the entire photoshoot, I will happily do a 2 hour re-shoot for you on another day.

Do all your packages include albums?

I have a digital package for those couples who just want to receive digital files. Once again, I highly recommend designing an album as one day the USB just might not be compatible with any computer you have or, heaven forbid, you might have a hard drive failure. Just remember – back up, back up, back up!

How long do you keep our digital images?

Your digital images are kept on file for 12 months after your shoot.

We have never had professional photos taken before…

Most people haven’t had a session with a professional photographer. One way to overcome any nerves before your wedding is to book an engagement shoot. You can be assured that once your engagement shoot is complete, you will feel much more relaxed and comfortable in preparation for your big day. The aim of the day is to relax and enjoy every moment of it.

How long does it take to get my photos back?

As a rule of thumb, the turnaround time for complete production of wedding packages is 4-6 weeks, and portrait packages 2-3 weeks.
